OSAT Blog Hop - Throwback Thursday

Welcome to the One Stamp At A Time (OSAT) blog hop! You might be arriving here from Anna Smith's blog or you might be dropping in for the first time here. Regardless of how you got here, please make sure you scroll down and click the NEXT button so you can continue the hop. Today is Throwback Thursday, and we've got some great Throwback projects for you this month! Each blog will show you a card and a 3-D item such as a gift bag, box, treat holder, or home decor item - the sky is the limit! You'll be sure to get lots of variety with this very talented group of stampers!

Here's what I came up with - an adorable Halloween Card and a treat box to go with it! I used the SPOOKY CAT BUNDLE and SWIRLY BIRD for the card. For the box, I used our new MINI PIZZA BOX and EVERYDAY LABEL PUNCH.

This card is a Throwback for me because I used the layout from this card I made last fall. The product is retired now, but that doesn't mean I can't CASE the design!

Do you love the Halloween paper I used on my projects? It's from the SPOOKY NIGHT DESIGNER SERIES PAPER STACK! I am in love the colors in this paper - Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and Basic Black.

Dimensions:

  • Very Vanilla Thick - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (score/fold at 4 1/4") card base
  • Spooky Night DSP - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
  • Very Vanilla - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
Now for the box - this was so incredibly easy to put together. I used a new MINI PIZZA BOX. These boxes come with 8 in a pack, and they are the perfect size for one of those adorable cutout cookies (they are food safe!) that you drool at in the bakery or some 3" x 3" note cards. Some more of that stinkin' cute SPOOKY NIGHT DSP makes decorating this box ridiculously easy! I just wrapped it around the box, wrapped some of our new JUTE TWINE around and tied in a bow, then slipped a 3" x 3" layer of dsp under the twine. I used two dimmensionals on top of each other to pop up that tag over the tail of the Jute Twine bow.

I'm really excited to find the perfect Halloween cookie to put in this box and gift my cute box and card to someone! Maybe I'll make a few more and give to my team at work!

How to Make a Celebrate Autumn Card using Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder & Colorful Season Stamp Set

Welcome stampers! Is summer time fading where you are? It is here in Wisconsin! We've been having some much cooler weather here...which I love! I'm an autumn girl at heart :). The mornings have been a bit crisp, and the evenings have been perfect for snuggling under a light blanket. My favorite time of year is just starting, so I had to make a card to celebrate!

I love how the Celebrations Duo embossing folders can be used with other stamp sets. This leaf stamp from Colorful Seasons is perfect for this fall card! I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Cherry Cobbler for that perfect pop of autumn color.

For the card front, I used the Crushed Curry Ombre paper from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack. I love how it goes from light to dark, and it sure pops against that white layer on top of my Early Espresso card base. Oh! And the Labeler Alphabet stamp...perfect for saying whatever you want on a card. I love it!

I've got a step by step tutorial for you on this card - it was so easy to make! Gather your supplies!

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
  • STAMPS – Labeler Alphabet (141936), Colorful Seasons (143726)
  • PAPER – Early Espresso (119686), Whisper White (100730), Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack (144193)
  • INK – Crushed Curry (131173), Pumpkin Pie (126945), Cherry Cobbler (126966), Early Espresso (126974), Neutrals Stampin’ Write Markers (131261)
  • OTHER – Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder (142760), Big Shot (143263), Linen Thread (104199), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755)
Cutting & Scoring:
  • Early Espresso - 11” x 4 ¼”, score and fold at 5 ½” & scrap
  • Whisper White – 5” x 3 ¾”
  • Color Theory DSP (Crushed Curry Ombre) – 4 7/8” x 3 5/8”
Instructions:
  • Using Big Shot, deboss Celebrate into the Crushed Curry Ombre DSP.
  • Stamp leaves over debossed Celebrate, and stamp Autumn as shown above.
  • Adhere stamped Crushed Curry layer to Whisper White layer.
  • Using the Early Espresso marker, flick diagonally across the card to make subtle ink splatters.
  • Wrap Linen Thread around card front layers 4 times and tie in a bow.
  • Adhere card front to card base

A Simple Wedding Card for Global Design Project 099 | Theme Challenge

I think one of the best things about stamping is being able to create unique cards that are absolutely perfect for the situation and the friend you are sending them to. My friend Emily is getting married this weekend, and I can't make it to the wedding, but that didn't stop me from creating a card perfect for her.

Interestingly, this week's Global Design Project Challenge is a theme challenge, and the theme is wedding or anniversary! What perfect timing! You can read more about the challenge by clicking below.

My friend loves to spend time on her family's cranberry marsh and her new husband's family farm. I wanted to create an elegant, harvest-themed card, and immediately I thought of a wheat bouquet when I picked up my Bouquet Bunch framelits.

I also wanted my card to be simple, but elegant. The new Ruffled 3D embossing folder was the perfect choice to create that look. I chose Very Vanilla as my card base and front and a simple color pallette by bringing in So Saffron with the wheat and "Congratuluations" sentiment. The gold mini sequin trim is the perfect pop of glitz, don't you think?

I added just the perfect pop of a color across the blank space of this card with a few flicks of my Old Olive Stampin' Write marker, and I carried the Old Olive into the inside of the card too.

Isn't that sentiment just perfect for a wedding? That' comes from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, and when you bundle with the framelits, you can save 10%!

If you don't have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would be so thrilled to earn your business! I love inspiring you with my projects, and all of my customers get an invitation to my private Facebook VIP page where I share exclusive projects with you, we play games, and you can win prizes!
