Aqua Wash Background

Do you remember my video on the amazing watercolor wash technique using a ziplock baggie? If you haven't seen it yet, you can view it HERE.

Well today, I am showcasing another card for you using that amazing technique! My friend Kelly made this card, and I just HAD to share it with you because this card is so pretty! I've even got a step by step tutorial for you so you can make it at home! Yay!

Wowsers! Don't you just love this card???? Ok...gather your supplies!

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
  • STAMPS – Beautiful You (143637 clear, 143004 wood),
  • PAPER – Watercolor Paper (122959), Whisper White Thick (140272), Basic Black (121045)
  • INK – Tuxedo Black Memento (132708)
  • OTHER – 2016-2018 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers (141393), Brights Stampin’ Write Markers (131259), Subtles Stampin’ Write Markers (131263), Aqua Painters (103954), White Perfect Accents (138416), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), sandwich sized Ziplock bag

Instructions:
  • Lay the ziplock bag over the Watercolor layer and color vertical lines with the Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Flirty Flamingo (again) Markers in a row.
  • This allows you to use the ziplock bag as a template to position your marker coloring.
  • Apply a generous amount of water with the Aqua Painter to the Watercolor Paper layer.
  • Place the ziplock bag on the wet Watercolor Paper and squish it around just a little bit to blend the colors.
  • Remove ziplock and allow paper to dry completely.
  • Stamp greeting and image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink where shown.
  • Add White Perfect Accents where desired.
  • Adhere stamped layer to Basic Black layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  • Then adhere to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I so love the baggie technique! What a simple way to add a gorgeous pop of color to your projects!

Eastern Beauty Thank You

Good morning and happy Monday! I am back from another weekend up north fishing with my husband. I had a great time! It's hard to fit in both of my loves - fishing and stamping, but I'm making it work!

I have a gorgeous card to show you today using the Eastern Palace bundle again. I can't get enough of this new product. I am in love with those medallions and everything you can do with them!

This card is very simple, yet elegant. Gather your supplies!

STAMPIN’ UP SUPPLIES:

  • STAMPS – Eastern Beauty Bundle (145308)
  • PAPER – Whisper White Thick (140272), Lemon Lime Twist (144245), Whisper White (100730), Eastern Beauty DSP (from bundle)
  • INK – Dapper Denim (141394), Lemon Lime Twist (144086)
  • OTHER – Banner Triple Punch (138292), Big Shot (143263), Multipurpose Glue (110755), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Bone Folder (102300)
CUTTING & SCORING:

  • Whisper White Thick – 11” x 4 ¼”, score and fold at 5 ½”
  • Lemon Lime Twist – 5 3/8” X 4 1/8”; scrap
  • Whisper White – 4 3/8” x 3 1/8”; scrap
  • Eastern Beauty DSP – scraps ¾” wide
INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Stamp the medallion in Dapper Denim around the outside of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock piece.
  • Adhere stamped Lemon Lime layer to the Whisper White Thick card base.
  • Stamp the starburst in Lemon Lime Twist on the Whisper White card front layer in the bottom and top left corners as shown in the photo above.
  • Stamp the Thank You sentiment in Dapper Denim scattered among the Lemon Lime starbursts. Adhere the white layer to the card front.
  • Use the triple banner punch on DSP scraps to make banners & adhere to card front.
  • Die cut 2 medallion images from whisper white scraps and one from Lemon Lime scrap.
  • Adhere the Lemon Lime medallion to the front of 1 Whisper White medallion, making sure to offset the points.
  • Die cut the petals that match the medallion outline on the remaining Whisper White medallion. Gently curl the petals up with a bone folder so you can see the layer beneath & attach to the layered White & Lemon Lime medallions with a dimensional.
  • Adhere the layered medallion to the card front over the DSP banners with dimmensionals. Make sure you place dimmensionals to the outer edges of the medallion (not underneath the dimensional used for the top layer).
  • Stamp the inside of the card, if desired.

Remember, if you buy the Eastern Palace bundle from me using my May hostess code KCGZKGBH, you will receive exclusive tutorials on 25 cards...yep, you read that right...25 cards (!!!)  as my gift to you to think you for your business! Sneak Peek & 2-Step Stamp Watercolor Technique

TGIF, stampers! Are you inspired by the beautiful weather we've been having? I know I am! I love all the green leaves I've been seeing, and that is my inspiration for the card I'm showcasing today!

Doesn't this card just make you think relaxation? Can't you just feel the sunshine and cool breeze imaging yourself sitting in that chair under a shady maple tree with bright green spring-time leaves? And the elegance of that faux bow in the NEW Fresh Fig in-color. I love, love, love Fresh Fig paired with Pear Pizzaz. It's such a sharp color combination!

This card uses a fun and EASY watercolor technique with those 2-step stamped leaves in the background.

You get a sneak peak at this new product and can see how I made this card in my video tutorial. The stamp set will be available June 1st, so now you have an idea of what to use it with before you can even buy it! Click below to watch my video.

I hope that you enjoyed my sneak peek!

Fresh Fig Eastern Beauty

Happy Monday...errr, I mean WEDNESDAY! It feels like Monday to me, though. I just got back from vacation! I spent 5 amazing days "off the grid" fishing in Northwoods Wisconsin. I love the simplicity of time spent in the boat without paying any attention to my cell phone. I am relaxed and rejuvenated.

So - did you get your hands on the Eastern Palace bundle while I was gone? This bundle is a beauty - I can't get enough. Today I want to showcase this beautiful card my friend Connie made and am giving you step-by-step instructions to make it yourself.

Isn't this card stunning? I absolutely love, love, love that Fresh Fig pop of color against the crisp Whisper White. Fresh Fig is one of our new in-colors, and I can't get enough!

Ready to make this card? Gather your supplies!

  • Very Vanilla – 3 ½” x 3 ½”, 2 ½” x 2 ½”
  • Fresh Fig – 3 ¾” x 3 ¾”
  • Gold Glimmer – ½” Circle
INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Adhere the Fresh Fig cardstock towards the top of the Vanilla card base.
  • Die cut the medallion image from the center of the 3 ½” x 3 ½” Vanilla cardstock.  Make sure you have a point facing the top.
  • Stamp the (3) burst image in each corner and “life is beautiful” around the circle.
  • Place (5) Dimensionals on the focal image and adhere onto the Fig cardstock.
  • Die cut the (2) dies for the star image at the same time from the 2 ½” x 2 ½” Vanilla.  Adhere the Gold Glimmer circle in the center.  Place a Dimensional on the back and adhere to the center of the medallion.
  • Stamp (3) diamonds on the bottom right corner.
  • Stamp the inside of the card, if desired
How easy was that?!? I just love stunning and simple card!
